General Account
Jan 10th Cacaguatque Dept Morazan El Salvador
of moderate size on both side of
an east facing ridge - & woodlows
in great abundance - 3 kinds; barred,
Dendrocolaptes certhia, Xiphorhynchus
flavigrater and Lepidocolapt affinis.
Flake of 'hummers & warblers excited
about something on grad. - coll.
a Squirrel.
In afternoon, linked along series
to peaks to west about 3 mi.
Habita seen beside finca: heavy
brush & vine tangles along summit
where many warblers & some
Atlapetes virgin grove oaks &
large truct ferns & vines seen across
canyon on a n-e facing slope.
In oaks on west side mt. at
dusk, night hunted - coll. pr.
Otus 'trichopsis & heard 2
Caprimulgus vociferus at edge oak,
& fines. On way back to camp
heard about 5 Cicada & 4 Otus
trichopsis in 2 mi. Finca country.
Jan 11 Hunted around cornfield on
east side large steep canyon, &
camp. Many birds along boundary
between cornfield & virigi oaks:
Jays, robins & saltetors & sm.
