Marshall, 1942 El Salvador Jan 3 Mt. Cocagnatigue, Dept. Morazan finca begins & continues up east side canyon. Collect 8? of pair of 1669? Ceophloesus lineatus working together in finca shade tree. 3 or 4 others 1670? seen in this flock. ? Ceophloesus taken at top of next ridge in very dry scrubby oak situation - working on low 1671? dead oak. Trogon violaceus taken in dense growth at edge of finca. 1673 or Taken 1672 Talaes alligularis at least at 5000 ft by N. Geer near top of 2nd peak from east. Was pursuing a warbler thru the coffee & finca shade trees. Very rapid flight - was "much better flier than warbler & could follow it very well" -- warbler would dive into low dense coffee bushes, hawk after it then hawk would sit awhile on tree waiting for warbler to go again" (Tales alligularis). Two Corvus corax seen perched in deed tree in clearing near hacienda. Jan 4 tanager taken from finca 1674? shade tree in a.m. by sparrow-hawk in clearing. saw red-tail hawk chased 1675? Columba flavirostris taken by Geer in finca 1676 ? " fasciata " " " from several perched in foliage of lg. pine. P.M. night-lunted along road thru finca to top of ridge to S.W. Cloudy, & got into
