flashed wings v creeper. Worked in woods on west face of peak & heard louder woodlcewr squeals - perhaps barred woodlcews because in same place as collected one Dec. 27. But Woodwarblers abundant everywhere. On saddle on S west side off this eastern pk., coll. a flycatcher from low planted coffee
1661?finca shade tree. Worked v Empidonax.
At top of next pk. to west, which is very high, coll. a Columbafasciata
1662? which was sitting with it mate on a dead tree - in the finca which extend clear to top of this peak. Clouds were continually drifting past the peak v here saw swifts Streptoprogne in groups up to several hundred indiv. A few hawking about all time - would race down slope making loud whirs. Flock would appear from NE, N-W about every 20 min & fly low to top of peak, then they would all spiral up then forage high, & break up into groups or move out of sight. Shot one but didn't get any. Often give high chattering noises. Behavior v black swifts. Back at the hacienda,
