with Albee on Umatilla Co. Ore. July 30
with my 6x Binocs at a most remarkable group of hawks. A beautiful Prairie Falcon was soaring low over the road - Longhurst shot at it with Woodsman??
2 Large Black Eagles were a little farther away - also a Sparrow Hawk.
In the distance were a pair of vultures & some Luteos.
We got in the car & approached the next range, into which ran a good-sized stream. The other hawks were still in sight behind us when we saw a beautiful, long-winged Osprey flapping just above the tops of the pines where the stream entered the rut.
We next drove along the stream & saw one or more crows on every pine along it. They were huddled close to the trunk on horiz. stubs - in full view. Apparently spawning fish had attracted this congregation of raptors.
