LIDICKER 1940 N Norway bird list cont. + family seen farther N, but now definitely identified as its species beyond Mo: Rana. Arctic Tern - many resident. Some seen far B of G nordh but those definitely identified from Lofothen's north were its species. Com., and T. + large breeding colony (60+) at P (many individuals carrying small fish) Kittiwake - 3+ (Vestfjord) Black Guillemot - 1 (Saltstraumen), 1 (nr Svolver) + 1 (ndv F. Vassnes & T.) Puffin, Atlantic - 50+ (SE side of Landeyoke Island) Rock Dove - seen in almost all towns incl. T and P. Wood Pigeon - now < B area > 2 at T. Collared Turtle Dove - 2 B Swift - 10 + (Trondheim), 3+ (B) Sand Martin - 20 + (T) Swallow - few, seen on way to Bodø but not afterwards House Martin - seen at least as far N as Harstad Tree Pipit - 2 (T) White Wagtail - 3 (Rakland) + more all the way to T. Starling - 6 (T) - heavily speckled adults = 3 + 3 pairs. Merganser - seen at all stops except maybe Stamsund & Svolver Hooded Crows - at almost all stops except family Lofothen's Icterine Warbler - 1 (B) Willow Warbler - 3+ (H), 3+ (T) Chickadee - 3+ (B) + 1 ? heard singing briefly at T. Fieldfare - 1 (Trondheim) resident thrush - 1 (T) (cont.)
