Botanical Gardens. Host: Rick Ostfeld. Seminar: 12:30-13:30 followed by discussion lunch. Rick started around the Carrey Arboretum - since the Inst. is located & shared a room w/ his past research sites for Micromyz Dinner w/ Rick & Lorrie & daughter (18mo+) Amary at their home in Armonk, near Red Hook. April 24 - Left Millbrook ~ 09:30 after breakfast. Rt. 44 to Millerton & 199 to Pine Plains. Visited Thompson Pond Preserve (Nature Conservancy) just S of town. Rt. 82 to Ancram & th to Copake Falls; E on 344 into Massachusetts & Berkshire Mtns. to Mt. Everett (2602 ft.). S. on dirt road paralleled to Rt. 41 & Metacomet Trail to Salisbury, CT. Rt. 44 to Ledyville when we stopped for lunch (~15:00). Rt. 41 to Sharon & Rt. 4 SE to Archbold Sanctuary when we stopped for ~30 min. Then on to Cornwall Bridge & Rt. 7 S to Norwalk. Took I-95 to Old Greenwich when we tried to get to the shore of L.I. Sound at Greenwich Point. Most of the panorama w/ the water and is blocked by private
