LIDICKER 1981 Sept 16 cont. Dayt. We set 7 traps - this house. Turning on to the road to Zatkowice we soon spotted a older farm- farm combination which looked promising for mice . So, we stopped & talked to a very fat lady farm wife. She thought we were crazy + that perhaps Poland should start exporting mice to the U.S. We set 8 traps - various rooms in her house + 2 more in the loft of her garage. In the kitchen she showed us bread that had been eaten by mice. This village is called Obrochówka. Then we continued on to the village of Kościelisko which is only 3 km W of Zatkowice. The wife is a Landscaper artist & the husband is an excellent carpenter + wood carver. Their house contains beautifully constructed log house etc. The husband is looking for a prefabricated log house for summer in Warszawa (the home is to be mountaineer style). We set 5 traps in their house + barn. Then they had their nephew ( whom they seem to have adopted because they have no children) take us to a neighbor's farm not too far away which they report has more mice. This place did indeed look good & we set 12 traps: their barn (1 in loftroom). This made a total of 34 traps set. Then we went to Zatkowice to have lunch at the same private restaurant + cafe where we were last night. While there showed me around the touristy parts of
