(Collected) Lepus saxatilis "ngamiensis" Example specimen - KM 10546 ♀, 22 Apr. 1929, Korokwisa, S.W. Africa, Grootfontein Dist. 1350 m, Shortridge. HB-510, TI-74, HF 112, Ear 110. Head darker brown than Lepus sax. Chiversi. Back showing black tipped hairs especially on middle back, rump grey, sides d fauvy grey, white below, tail same, throat patch more greyish. Lepus saxatilis Example specimen, KM 13498 ♀, 6 May 1948, Fort Beaufort, C.P., A.C. Ionion, HB-580, TI-110, HF-140, Ear-133. Very large, fair bases whitish grey, then black, white, black tipped. Overall color brownish grey, buff behind ears, legs greyish, white below, tail quite long, throat greyish white, chin whitish.
