Back, grey speckled with white and black, tail as long as body and black tipped, pads black, 5 fingers with nails (black) feet black with 5 toes with nails, reddish undertail. Cercopithecus aethiops whytei KM-11553 σ, 27 June 1946, Sibalula ft. of Mlanje Mt. Mt. Nyasaland, 2500-3000 B.C. Shortridge, 570,700,146,43. Larger than Cape Vervet monkey, face black but back and head a grey brown speckled appearance, reddish under tail by arms, ears black. (aobanelt vervet) Cercopithecus aethiops "helvoscens" KM-10689 σ, 2 Sept. 1927 Ehombo, M.Kookveld, S.W. Afr. 800 m Shortridge, 480,545,115,32. Desc above a yellowish brown streaked with black, below pale whitish grey, arms light grey and legs same, tail faintly black tipped.
