brown pads. feet small and delicate Mammae, 4 Acomys subspinosus KM-6516 ♀, 15 July 1941, Citrusdal, C.P. Geldenhuyse, 87, 85, 17, 14, Desc - medium brown bristle hairs above, sides fawn, below white, tail as long as body feet white, tail light brown above, whitish below. Acomys witherbyi KM-3451 ♀, Feb 10, 1921, 6 Mi. W. 4st Fashion, Sudan, Lowe, 101, 90, 18, 17. Desc - bristles girdle-like, brown above, pale light brown on sides, white below, tail thick, feet white. Personal Notes collected a Selous Spiny mouse at Lecanshya, Northern Rhodesia. Caught them in fair numbers in and around the large ant hills of that country. The skin is extremely delicate and hard to skin without tearing. They are found in the same locality with Tetragala, Thallomys, Aeccatomus, Musdomys, Calata, and other common rodents of the same area.
