Short-Eared Gerbil (Desmodillus auricularis)
Forefeet - white above, brown pads below with
short whitish-brown hairs, 5 toes, 1st toe vestigial
vestigial with short stubby claw, Claws medium,
larger on other 4 toes.
Hind feet - white hairs above and below (very
short), 5 toes, 1st toe shorter than others.
Mammae - 8 (4 pectoral, 4 ing.)

1 faunish ruffous color phase.
