Personal Notes
I have collected this species on the open slopes on Zinkenstein Farm near Wardhoek, S.W. Africa. Also at Arend's "Vrede" Farm at Graaff Renet, in the Karoo.
Their warren holes are fairly well spread out. The openings are not as large as gerbils'. Only a small amount of sand and dirt is scraped out of the warrens and pushed out of the opening. The large gerbils push large quantities of sand out of their warrens in a curved pattern.
Have only taken these in limited numbers.
