Koford, Rolf 1974 Journal 14 Des. Corona de Abajo, 72/3 mi. E Meling Ranch, Bajo Calif. del Norte, Mexico ~6400 ft. Out of my 17 traps I caught one Peromyscus maniculatus, 1 P. eremicus, and the 1 Neotoma from yesterday evening. Others caught a Perognathus fallax, several Dipodomys which could not be assigned absolutely to species. Dave Bradford also caught 9 Neotoma lepida and the rest of the people caught 5 more, Peromyscus maniculatus and P. eremicus were also caught in abundance. I set out 5 Skylers, 4 Conibears (both snap traps), 6 non-collapsible and 2 collapsable Havaharts (live trap) while the others set out large folding Shermans. Dr. Lidicker and Pete Escherick set below the camp, while Larry Riggs, Dave Bradford, Bill Glanz went back down the hill to Oak Crossing, .3 mi. uphill from the 28 km. road marker, and set traps there. There were oaks (Quercus agrifolia), 4 apple trees, and grass at Oak Pasture, about 500 m. south of oak crossing by a path that lead through a barbed-wire gate. Around Corona de Abajo there were widely spaced big Jeffrey pines with brush, mostly Antostaphylias below. It was very
