Koford, Rolf P. 1974 Journal 15 Sept. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co, Calif. ~4300 ft. the dairy is closed on Sundays. I saw a Western Gray Squirrel on the way back and managed to get a good look, unlike previous times I've tried. I watched squirrels from 1000 until 1500, recapturing one squirrel and capturing a new one, then again from 1515 until 1925, catching another squirrel which escaped before she could be marked completely. - Sky clear, wind light; temp. about 60°F to 80°F 16 Sept. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co, Calif. ~4300 ft. I watched squirrels from 0630 to 0745, then went into Nevada City for dry ice and groceries. Then I watched squirrels from 0915 until 1925 with a half hour break for lunch. There were few campers in the campground. I juvenile marked. - Sky clear, wind light; temp. about 60°F - 80°F 17 Sept. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co, Calif. ~4300 ft. I watched squirrels from 0643 until 0805, then from 0830 until 1330, when I went into Nevada City for more dry ice. I watched again from 1530 until 1914. Again, there were few campers in the campground. No squirrels marked. Sky clear, wind light; temp. about 60°F to 80°F. 18 Sept. Arriving about 1700, I set out the traps, recapturing one squirrel. - Sky clear, wind light; temp. around 70°F at 1700.
