Koford, Rolf R. 1974 Journal 13 Sept. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co., Calif. ~4300 ft. On my way up to the campground I stopped in Sacramento and got a set of hand clippers to clip fur off the squirrels. I also stopped in Nevada City and got some dry ice and arrived at the campground at about 15-00. I set out 8 live traps and put in about 10 more stakes in the grid. I watched squirrels from 1800 until 1920, finding a family of chickarees. Most of the sugar pine cones which remain on the trees are open and many of the Ponderosa Pine cones are too. - Sky clear, wind light, temp. was around 80°F when I arrived. 14 Sept. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co., Calif. ~4300 I watched squirrels from 0642 until 1930 concentrating on the family I had discovered. White Cloud campground, 11 miles east of Nevada City, Nevada Co., Calif. ~4300 ft. I watched the nest hole from 0625 until 0710, then went back to the truck and saw a very small juvenile chickaree on the way. I went in to Nevada city to get some dry ice and discovered that
