White Tool campground 4300 ft, 11 mi E Nevada City (by rd), Nevada Co., Calif.
13 Aug. I spent 0635-1410, 1620-2020 in the 1st study area, hearing 177 chirps. I opened the 30 traps from 0850-0930, closed them from 1800-1822, catching one adult, 2 juvenile Beechey Ground Squirrels. I saw a Perognathus foraging around and a Gray Squirrel eating acorns. I saw a ? adult & juvenile playing, though she gave chirps once in a while. I also saw a ? min chase - probably a lactating & chasing a juvenile which was chirring in her area. A couple people with dogs went through the study area and a couple people gathered firewood. The campground was about half full.
