Koford, R. 1976 Journal White Cloud campground, 4300ft, 11 mi. E Nevada City (by rd), Nevada Co, Calt 2 June scales from a couple small Douglas Fir cones. I also saw a Gray Squirrel near th E end of the study area. Cloud cover was < 1%, wind 5-20 mph. Temp. high 50's (°F) to ~70°F in the early PM. 3 June I spent 0640 - 1335, 1540 - 2015 in the 2nd study area, hearing 12 chirs. I opened the 30 traps at about 0800, closed them at ~1800. I found a track of a bear in the dust. Sky clear, wind light. Temp. reached the mid 60's (°F) and was ~50°F at 2000. 4 June I spent 0640 - 1600, 1640 - 1945 in the study area, hearing 55 chirs. Temp. mid 50's at 0700, reaching the high 60's. 5 June The squirrel I tried to keep alive was dead in the morning, so I prepared a study skin from her (#64) in the morning. Then she had already been marked with Lady Clover on both forelegs and ~4cm. From the tip of the right side of the tail, I removed her eartag. Then I spent 1130 - 1215 in the 2nd study area to set the traps, then 1400 - 2040 also 11 chirs, traps close ~1800 in the 2nd study area.
