Koford, R. 1976 Journal White Cloud campground, 4300 ft., 11 mi. E Nevada City (by rd), Nevada Co, Calif. 10 May I spent 0705 - 1225, 1430 - 2000 in the 2nd study area, hearing 10 chirs. I opened th 25 traps at about 0800, closed them at about 1845. I saw one Gray Squirrel near A1. The sky was clear in th early morning, then hazy, then ~90% clouds for th rest of th morning. Th afternoon was mostly 50%-90% cloudy, then clearing in the late afternoon. Wilt light. Temp. ~ 55°F at 0700, about 70°F at 1400, mid- 50's at 2000. 11 May I spent 0624 - 1259, 1509 - 2013 in the second study area, hearing 19 chirs, 16 by 2 squirrels. I also saw a Gray Squirrel which may have been chased by a chickaree I opened th 25 traps at about 0700, closed them at about 1815. In the early afternoon, I went into Nevada City for dry ice and supplies. Sky hazy or <30% cloudy all day, wilt light. Temp. mid-50's (°F) at 0200, low 20's in th early afternoon, high 50's at 2000. 12 May I spent 0700 - 1320, 1550 - 1910 in the second study area, hearing 3 chirs. I opened th 25 traps at about 0720, picked them up at about 1800. I saw one Gray Squirrel at 1100 on the oak SE. 260° RS. After ~15 min. mostly remaining motionless, it left to the W. Wind was 10-15 mph in th early morning, then light for the rest of the day. Sky clear. Temp. in mid 50's (°F) at 0200, low 70's in the early afternoon, and high 50's at 2000. The buds on some of the Douglas firs are opening and new light green leaves can be seen
