Koford, R. 1925 Journal White Cloud campground, 4300 ft., 11 mi. E Nevada City (by rd.) Nevada Co., Calif. 11 Oct. was caught 28a. 70°85. I left the remaining traps (12) open during the night. 12 Oct Although I tried to keep the squirrels insulated, they all died during the night. Female FH, which had weighed 228 gms. last night, now weighed 209 gms. She was catalogued as H41, male CG was H42, and the juvenile F43. I kept the skins to put up later. The juvenile had weighed 175 gms. when weighed last night, whereas CG had not been weighed, so his recorded dead weight of 192 gms. is probably 15-20 gms. lighter than his live weight. I spent 0830-0930 in the first study area, finding 2 dead squirrels in traps. Then I skinned the squirrels, picked up the traps. Squirrel AG got H45, the juvenile H44. I then walked around the campground from 1230-1245 and left soon after. Sky overcast, temp. 36° F at 0800. It rained as I left.
