C Koford Journal 2 August 1969. Lomas Cachay -> Peru Summers on our slope may have been of Geritio. We drove slowly on north through Huecho St and Patanbia, then off to E. side to Huasas (210 km). On up this road where much cultivation of sugar cane - then corn, papayas, other products. About 8 mi. up came to a pond 50 yds long, w. swallows, bull-dog, yellowlegs, Vermilion Flycatcher, and an Osprey - this made a few passes, about 100' from us, & plunged into pond. On up road went through 2 or 3 small settlements, where food & fruit for sale. Road gained altit- ude slowly. Bottom & trees grew, but slopes above rocky & deafow. Few
