Canin del Nido, Sierra del Nido, Chihuahua
Limber "pines to 80" tall; large ponderosa "pine". Flushed Band-tailed Pigeon near
streambed (Canyon bottom about 200 yds wide); still nest (of this?) about
20' up in oak. 0720, 6500', trail crossed creekbed to E. Bottom 100 yrs. wide.
Limber pine + alberry - leafed oak. Saw group 6+ ad and juv. Mexican jays
skipping. Ruf-sided Towhee. Scott Oriole sang in dead oak tree; g b d
d g l V (black hd + lil, yellow wing bar). Big Hummerdr. blue-green
[illegible] in oak by trail, 3' up 50 745 (700') red - forest wallers forage in
twigs + foliage of alpine leafed oak. Saw oftenering crab 3rd time to E., I
squished for birds under big alberry. Leafed oak and a or Coppery-tailed Trogon
came + perched under canopy, 60' from me (wide canyon open rocky face)
at 7000', "ponderosa" pine stands about 80' I still saw in canyon bottom
now narrow! On slope to W, pines scattered, dominant. Mexican jays, before.
Ruf-sided Towhee, or Hepatic Trogon near trail in bottom of draw. Large
"ponderosa" pine fragment. Pair of Band-tailed Pigeons flushed from nest,

15' up in column oak. Tundra. Saw first lone ever, or of Sevirus . Occ. pass
of
before - ruf-sided Towhee. / 0815, passed large canyon break cutting frank-
big builder worked down; rock face reddish. 0830, heard Coppery-tailed
Trogon calls from side canyon when rock outcrop, other. Clou-clou-

Trogon, Clou repeated 5-6x at 1/2 sec. intervals, slightly descending in
