rock + slope human near entrance of Yeloria (E side highway). Late wired +
stabled. Rough rock led up to edge canyon at month, + even on down into it
a few hundred yds. Camped at edge, about 6000'. Thick growth oaks in canyon,
+ many boulders, red rock cliffs; canning droppings, wild grapes (ripe) + ripe
mangosito berries. Good view of plain to E. Band lands divided no mules or
livestock in this lower country. Late night thunder saw, + possible, somewhere, snakes.
9 August 1968. Departed 0800 for hike up C. Medina's to top. Much remains in
lower canyon including one (a blue?) w. red heron (dry). Trail much worked out,
no little use. / 0900 we saw 2 jnr. Aquila
