Koford 15 Journal Mexico. 31 July 1968. Rancho del Alamo C.del Alamo Chihuahua, muddy mess of siltstream about 50' wide in a few seconds. Luckily we were clear of the flood. About 3 p.m., took walk to N. Thanked u. that white type tail. Much deer sign. Small oaks, shrubs, grass, on rocky undulating ground. Heard no turkeys, saw no quail. Moon first 1/4 waning. Coprinusrid colle evening. August 1 July 1968. Departed 0700 for helicopter trip. A broken fog layer around peaks, above on NE side. Pilot Capt. (P.A.) Jose Arroyo. We crossed ridge at Rd. Martinez, just W. of Altos del Alamo (9000' by altimeter in plane) & descended on NE side. To await clearing, landed & waited. Then to opposite site Ojo Laguna Cenicilla, where waited again for fog to rise above C. Campana. [C. La Campana] Eventually flew over this. A red-rock canyon just S. of La Campana main canyon, & on top a small lake. Sail red, river few, & vegetation much sparser than Rd. Martinez area. Then down canyon of Monte Negra ranch, which was green grassy w. widespread small oaks & rock outcrops. Back up C. de los Prietos, leading W. from the
