We departed on foot 11 a.m., up Q. de los Alamos, part turn to N., & on to C. Ojos-Ojito. 5/10 camulus. Saw goldfinch; 6+ gray bustitis w. black marks feeding branches oak trees. Above camp canyon goes 010°; grad-
saw red-faced warblers (Cardellina) 2
wally turns E. to about 100°. Saw [illegible](?), red lower & throat, large white rump patch, blue(?) below eyes V, black head, white crown, large white wing bar, white outer tail feather. (In solar canyon bottom). /Creep on pine trunks. Another[warbler?]-black head & rope, red breast, large white wing bar a spot, tail tip white. / The canyon closed with dark damp area near stream, going up Ojito, at first 040°, later to N. Lower part closed & dark; mossy rocks, stream - attractive area.

Head of canyon about 9900', in pines edge Mesa d. l. Varados, close to the little dam and 50 m., livestock pool, / Found an old turkey caecum. Near reservoir saw limit, red tail.

Gouldal (? - black b.d.w. white line about turkey?), yellow breast.
Nuthatch, Chickadees, Acorn woodpecker.
Martins - one black w. 3 apparent flying young on dead pine; 1-2 old ??7 with 2 young (?) in another dead pine, ad. fluttering at mouth of hole. Much twittering among all. / We walked N. to edge cliffs (near a brushy shrub) and looked down into A. de los Alamos; deep, with pines bottom and NW-facing rocks. Pines about 060°. A dry range until about 50 miles to NW. 7/10 overcast. / Then we went SW to top of Q. d. l. Alamos and (1530) started down into logged canyon w. much shot brush
