13 August 1967.
for gellos, we caught 3 and Hamilton said a few more escaped. The
other reddish, + associated shrubs, cactus, + small trees about same as
at Aneto area. Many forest trees (I saw an 30 yrs. distant ridge), and
goats.
extire hill much lichen dry goats. We drove on and took road a few
km. N. of Lambayeque toward Motupe, + camped near farm site but
near new + irrigation. Mc Cullum set traps (took 1 Paralysis)
Peramys).
Many
doves + other birds in green vegetation. Overcast, cold, windy.
14 August 1967. We drove in to Chiclayo for supplies and mail.

Hamilton took a look on sidewalks dry brick wall at edge of town, and
later we found amphibiaena, typolopes, + gellos under palm + cacti ditches
in vacant lot opposite VV services garage. We drove a few mile N. and camped
E. of Olmos
15 August 1967. Drove on N. to near Olmos, there captured found Sarn.

Stopped occassionally to look or to collect. A red flowered tree with some
Tillandsia common at some sites. Olmos River was a small stream, soon
dry. Some cactus in trees, + some saw Frigis and other tropical types.
Patch of green forest in some canyons, the most hills dry shrubs and
leafless trees. Camped 34 km. out on road at 4300 ft. (altimeter),
near a concrete bridge over small stream. Set up nets. Collected birds
and later I set 25 prop traps near stream (no catch). Patch of
green trees in small canyon near camp. Some goats nearby, but some
paratidly little livestock trouble. Slight drizzle in afternoon and night.
16 August 1967. Put up specimens + hunted. Prop traps took nothing.
Coturnixes, furmanus, flystebra, formianids, torngoes,
and birds we already had from other localities. Set out nets
for bats and took a few during night. My net, near bridge
over small stream, took only 3 bats. Stayed overnight; no traps.
17 August 1967. Departs early afternoon and drove on uphill,
