Koford 1967 Journal Peru 19 July 1967 Reventazon, Dto. Pura Peru H. gerlaillus Drew topo line (40 steps) about 1 a.m. + took 8 pelican & hummingbirds under broken in sandy ground. Drizzling later, + at 8 a.m. took 4 more mice from topsoil. In all, 12, from 7 to 21gms. Fox apparently pulled out one. No ant damage. Now then at midday the lumaurs (lizards, birds, or fox digging). Last eve saw night-thrush flying near mine ruins. Also 2-3 turkey vultures perched there much of day - nest in mine? Yesterday Huey shot a Cuivostin, + we saw Swiftness. To W., Hamilton saw Hygrophalus + owl other spp. in large magnificence near goat-hair's shade. So Huey took a few geese last night. / Morning airstart at about 300' and 10 mph wind from SE./ About 1 a.m. clear, lost in strange shelter 300 yds NW of ruin, but he escaped mystery? Hung four metal pieces near ceiling. Opening about 2' x 3', to 8 x 20 x 7' rock chamber. / Also The gobbled came and talked with us.
