Jan 26, 1952 at 137.4 at 3:05, 1 lone one on ishu ridge and 10 up 137.5 draw about 500 meters E 137. Matched 11 at 138 (64,5'). They were on both sides of road at 3:10. Moved uphill 100 yd. from road & grazed. 1 adult prone 3:10 to 3:30. 3 young & 1 adult (different) prone 3:30 to 3:55. Then another adult & young down. All up by 4:00. All but one adult & 1 young walked rapidly to top of hill and seemed to watch something on other side, then all came back and grazed again. 4:25 1 young did "wolf howl" 4 times on feces pile, sniffing pile each time, then pointing nose straight up with eyes closed. All still up and grazing at 4:30 when left. Jan. 29 10 am Drove up road from 137. At 137.7, group of 10 by road - moved up a little to left of road as I drove by. At 138.2, 1 adult & 1 young to left of road. 100 yd. N of 139, group of 49, several pairs fighting. 1 a little apart may have been chasing group rather than a part of it. Turned & drove back.
