C. Koford 117 Visogno Journal September 24, 1951 Aricoma, 1500'; Dpt's long Peru 1 Chinchilla♀, 2 A. jelaskii. 30± traps in SE canyon held 0. One of 4 set for P. sullivanae near house held 1 min. ♂. A hunter gave me head of vicuna ♂ (1272). Took up all my traps. September 25, 1951. Min. temp. -2°C. ½/10-7/10 cloudy to NE all day, + fair wind. Put up blinds. Set 15± traps near Lee Falls hoping to catch Neotoma. Set 10 traps in P. sullivanae cond. 200yds. SW of house. Davia specularis, Camelidae, Thysomys, & Murciavis flavoviridis, ablifera, & cinerea, remain common birds seen on rocky & ground. Spixius atratus, Phrygilus canorus, in flower. silvicola & plebejus, less common. Less common. Max. temp. 12°C. but felt hot out of wind. September 26, 1951. Min. temp. -2°C. Wind in night continuing in morning. Clear. ¼/10 cloudy by 11 a.m. 11 sullivanae traps held 3 (2♂7♀). M.K. put up one ♂; ♂+♀ discarded. Other traps held nothing. I put out 11 snap traps in runways in thick grass at edge Lee Flat (took up 6-these) where large ground dropmings ab- undant Ø (neotoma?). Returned to house. Watched local vic unae 11-12, 1-5 (group A + 15 ♂7♀). About 3/10 cloudy at noon, all overcast 4 p.m. Max. temp. +13°C. September 27, 1951. Min. temp. -3°C. Clear, calm. sullivanae traps held 0; taken up. Traps at Lee Flat held 1 A. jelaskii. Set 5 more traps there on flat in thick grass. Drove down Limberí road to (3800') & set 50± traps among boulders & tall grass in area where had set on previous occasion. One akodon boliviensis in traps before I left at 5 p.m. Max. temp. +13°C.; gradually clouded up during day.
