C. Koford 111 Journal September 5, 1951. To nr. Limboni, Dpto. Puno, Per- at & below Limboni, & occasional light sprinkle. Set 50 drop, Schuyler, & (2) still traps on west bank river (8 above road). Don a carda. Camped on river bank. Saw no bots. To Arecona, 15000', Dpto. Puno Peru September 6, 1951. Last evening found 1 Grygwynz & 1 Akodon in traps by 8:30 p.m. This morning found 4 gray manup cals. Returned to Arecona & put up specimens. Discarded 3 min. Grygwynz. Overs clear last night but clouding up by 9 a.m., light sprinkle (occasional snowflakes) at Arecona camp. Stock still there. September 7, 1951. Arecona, 15000', Dpto. Puno, Peru- Clear airshed, clouds down canyon, at 6 a.m. Snow just covered ground. By 7 a.m. fog reaching camp as farq. Later clouds rose & 8/10 to all ascent. Watched vicunas 2 hrs. in morning. Set +3 traps (1 still) near rocks on grazed gentle slope & near rock; that 2 chicks. grass, lumber, on S. slope of S. Hill. Saw 9 condors, 15 geese. September 8, 1951. Temp. min. -5° C. Traps held: Dervignz (kept shell only), 2 P. darwini, 2 A. jelskii (put up 1 P.d., discarded others). Clear in morning but clouding up in afternoon. Visited traps in afternoon & set 7 additional + 4 live traps. Took 1 lygod caught in snap traps (saved both). Max. temp. +14° C. September 9, 1951. Temp. min. -4°. Clear in early morning, closing up at midday. Traps held: P.runonp, A.jelskii, both in live traps, + 1 fox. Kept P.runonp for pet. Fused A. jelskii. Kept shell for. Departed 8 a.m. & drove to Cuzco for mail & exp. Max. temp. 14½° C. plices & returned to house 1 p.m. Also examined for campal. September 19, 1951. Temp. min. -2½° C. last night. Clear early morning. Y10 specimen by 8 a.m. Traps held: 1 P. darwini. P.runonp dead,
