C. Koford 26 Journal June 14, 1951. Aricoma, 1500', Dpto. Puno, Peru. total set. Returned to house. Fair E. wind; half overcast (noon). Put up Bonomys and a Phylletis (M.K. trap). Hunted ducks for 2 hrs. [lagar cristata] but got none; at least 12 of the "brown wedgem" or a new S. Perds. Rain + hail between 3+4 p.m. June 15, 1951. Friday. Clear except clouds low to E. Temps. -20° + 12° C. at 7:45 left for traps. Shot a hummingbird + saw another. No catch in traps (A. jelslii tail). Set 3 additional traps Ponomys close to one where Bonomys taken yesterday; baited all with Bonomys. stuck centers. Returned to house by 9:45 p.m. We drove to Cueiro, departing 10:30 a.m. + returning 3:30 p.m. Saw many vicunas on route. Half overcast all day but no precipitation. Saw a condor near camp. Shot 2 ducks and A. cristata of the "brown wedgem" near S. Perds in evening. June 16, 1951. Temps. -2° + 10°C. Foggy clouds on mountains at 8 a.m. + all overcast by noon. My traps held 1 Phylletis pictus + one milas(?). Picked up all traps save 6 shunaw + 5 other + reset them in grass + rocks near cliffs N. of Lcc Lake. Returned to camp. Put up one Phylletis. Watched vicunas for 2 hrs. Drove from about 4:30 on, ground opaque white by dark. June 17, 1951. Temps. -1½°, +5½°C. at 7:30. Ground fairly solid white, snow ½" to 1" deep. Apparently snowed after 7 p.m. lst evening. My traps held 2 A. jelslii. Took up all old traps (6 shunaw, 5 other). Set a few new in new line so total 29. Ceniz overcast (½) + cumulo-nimbus around edges. Returned to camp 10:30 a.m. Built box trap. Shot + put up a Lcaritta + a Muscisapida. Moon about one
