May 13, 1951 Sunday. Clear & sunny. One still trap sprung
& other held a dog. 20 snap traps on rocky hillside held
1 large from Phylletis, 10 in pasture near rock wall held 1 small
or Phylletis, & 30 in garden held 2 of small P. The large P.
(like 07/04) led nipples 2 1/2 mm., much lastled tissue, but no embryo
or scars (uture from 30x1mm); wt. 45 grms (discarded). A smaller
& P. (illegible) weighed 2 4 grms.; no sub.; ut. horn 20 x 1/2; no
ut. scars, vulva perf. (like 2/10/40). Another? same wt. + sexual
condition (both min. but spiral development commenced?). Discarded
all mice caught. Again looked at vecinos in pasture; one
fame enough to be petted. Saw one snipe & 2 young tin-
anaus. That 190 gram young tinamou (700 gm. bird);
too badly damaged to be eefed or preserved. Clouded up
about 10 a.m. Falarea common in yard here. In afternoon
walked to the "bosque" 1 1/2 hrs. to north. This was steep slope
