M. Kajford 1952. Tinamotis pentlandi 7 March 29 Huaylcaro, 15300' from under right wing & put it down in front. Now it became quiet. At 11:50 llamas again near nest. As one walked 10 ft. from nest, bird pulled head down close to body, then turned head to watch as llama went by. At 12:00 a llama walked 6 ft. away, the two walked 7 ft. away, one on either side of nest. Bird sat quiet. Llamas grazed near for 15 minutes but no others quite so close. From 12:15 to 12:45 it snowed steadily. Bird began to look a little white, occasionally shook head. April 2 Went to watch nest at 1:00. Bird is on with head close to body - can't see which way facing. No movement seen until 3:15 - head now up facing me. 3:30 turned to face right, head close to body again. Shade on nest by 4:00. 4:30 turned again to face me. & left 5:15.
