C. Koford 6 Journal February 25, 1951 Barro Colorado Island, Canal Zone small cayuca. Several black vultures and 10 turkey vul- tures on tree or ground on a small island (Hathia) near land-ing. Saw 3 Benleaps in tall trees at edge water and macawinga in water. One 3' long iguana on Hathia. A boy got some eggs from one iguana and we had a few for lunch. One kind was dumbbell shaped having 2 yolks in a sac with 2 parts- tasted like hen egg yolks but drier. Another kind had a soft, white shell - me sucked out the soft yolk - also tasted like hen's eggs. Asked the cook, Esperanza, to fix us some bread fruit if possible - a large tree of same grew 50 yards from the kitchen? We took a short swim in lagoon lake near the boat dock - water fairly clear and warm. Many laterally flattened fish with black spot on caudal peduncle visible there (to 10
