South American Trips 1951-2
San Francisco, Calif, to Dallas, Texas.
February 20, 1951. Departed from San Francisco Airport on American Airlines flight 10, a DC-6, at 8:15 a.m. I was accompanied by wife Mary and children Rolf (2 1/2), Carla (1 1/2) and Christi (3 months). Two youngest children rode free.
Flew non-stop to Dallas, Texas. Excellent view of Mt. Whitney area, Lake Meade and Boulder Dams, and Grand Canyon. Stayed at Mayfair Hotel - quiet and in-auspicious, but comfortable.

Havana area flat and cultivated with [illegible] partial rows of coco palms along edges of fields. Left after 45 (20,?) minute stay and flew on to Tocumen Airport, near Panama City, arriving 10:30 p.m. Took 15 miles to town and put up at Hotel International. Letter from Beth awaiting me there.
Panama
