C. Koford 208 Journal October 21, 1952. Linzor, 1400', 60 mi. EWE Coloma, Chile set up pupu tent behind & watched. Good mouse catch last night prob. due warmth; cross night three traps out. Clouds gone by 10 a.m. Took Tinamoti eggs while adult off nest. Took eggs to San Pedro dry truck. Temp. + 1, +10, at Linzor. October 22, 1952 Wed. With Erik Nelson toured jeep to Chugui for repairs & left it. Stayed at Nelson's at San Pedro. Temp. -6, +12° C., Linzor. October 23, 1952 Returned to camp with gracees with Erik & Miguel Unduragan. Broken leg pin delay ed us long at Coloma sulphur plant. Temp. -7, +11° C., Linzor. October 24, 1952 With Eric & Miguel visited end of east at Volcan Apayoqui, about 1700' and apparently above vegetation, no moss sign. Cold then sun in sunshine & out of wind. We returned via Planta Tatos (sulphur) and geyser of Toto to my Linzor camp. I with them then to San Pedro & spent night. Shot 2 adult Tinam- otis this morning. Put up one (#1666). Temp. -5, +11, Linzor. October 25, 1952 Nileniz have a Philopregon in a cage when they look & act much like the shell parakeets common ly kept in U.S. To Chugui with Miguel & & got car. Returned to Linzor camp. October 26/1952 To Tatio Geysers 1400' Temp. -6°, +11° at Linzor. Looked for Tinamoti nests all morning. Drove with trailer to Tatio Geysers. Set 30-30 traps near shoulders, tola, bunch grass. Clear & moderately windy. Along a stream line where many geysers empty water so warm & sulphurous (?), many frogs 2-5 per yd. for 50 yds. along one ridge where
