Oconeq, 6mi. N. Limbari,
Trape held a Darwin & oranguya. Shot a hummer & warbler for specimens. Tomas Flores, in charge of the Oconque station & old timer in the area, very cordial. Board room board at $10 per day (65$ U.S.). Set 20 snaptraps.

To Segrario
Trape held 6 dark bellied Oranguya (1 specimen), &
2 gray bellied (1 spec.); others deceased. Shot a good bird & spine tail for specimens: at 11:30 a.m. left, on foot, for
Segrario. Monkey bridge below Quinton at 2:40
a m., Segrario
at 5:30. Lodged at Segrario. Wooden buildings but only 1
man now. Saw several oropendolas & 3 cocks of rock near trail below monkey bridge (Parahuata area; food &
lodging obtainable). Several Merquettas seen in river.
One pair with single downy young which maneuvered well in feet water.

To Santo Domingo
Departed on foot at 7 a.m. Arrived Bella Pompea 9 a.m.
A house of Luna Mining telephone to Santo Domingo, &
electric plant for S.D. here. Shot 2 tungs (cock of
rock), & 2 bats in a tunnel 10 min. walk upstream
from B.P. Bottom of canyon about 200 yds. with
half of this taken up by river bed. Bats seen in
50 yd. tunnel leading in to power plant (water turbine).
At 12 M departed for S.D. Pacopacuni, a town
with plenty of groceries for sale at good prices,
30 min. from B.P. Crossed bridge at Oroya. Then
3 1/4 hours up trail to Santo Domingo mine. The
