C. Koford Journal PERU June 28, 1952 15 mi. E. Juliaca, Dto. Puno Birds: white-throated gule, red-brown small guley gulls, Oiolola, Upucertha (1 specimen), Ptilorcelye, Bonotukia, twl, Sertyle, Charonia andiola, a Muscarucida (cania-lik.) There near lakes. Castina clumps, 10' tall, near road & houses. Barley grown & cut. Many 2-3' high scattered lumbes near lake. Mown trash in sand near lake shore among bushes. Could not shake men 4 days from camp & following me so departed & drove to Juliaca. Camped in clinic yard. June 29, 1952 Sunday To Huanca & back to Juliaca Drove to Huancane to visit market. Then 10 km. to Velpo chico where a fiesta & several thousand people in crowd, mostly Indians. Lost shirt on rather deep bay of Lake Titic- cana just before Vilquechios (gules; area flainochies with downy young, or lake). Blegadi common. Pai stette 4500 ft. in pond near Toraco. I with red calf. Phyllium goji in Juliac July 1, 1952 To nr. Crucero, Dto. Puno Departed Juliaca 12:30 p.m. with Modesto Palomino, employ- ee of Mrs. Heller, for collecting trip in Santo Domingo area. Arrived Palomina 4 p.m. & stayed with Dammit a miner. July 2, (1952 To Agualani, below Limbani, Dto. Puno Drove on to Limbani & made station of Inca mining at Agualani. Taderisa smell in garage. Camped. July 3, (1952 To Oconeque, 6 mi. N. limbani Wiked to Oconeque (2 1/2 hrs.). Saw Momotua, May, swattle, on way. Shot & put up a Centurus, peeuce, small flycatcher, & Coperniculge . The last one of 3 out on trail after dark. Set 10 snap traps in wet dark woods.
