Chucaravi, Tambo Valley,
churches (droppings indicated night roosting), & in wooden
buildings at Mejia (resat town on road; scattered droppings
but no concentration found). Probably more lots in sew
men (Nov. - Mar.). Raining season is now thru July.
In night looked at El Canto & Santo Maria... 2 myetes seen
room at letter + ; caught (specimen).
May 28, 1952
To Arequipa
Departed Chucaravi 11a.m. & drove to Arequipa & stayed
with Mrs. Helen.
May 29, 1952. Shopping & luminos in Arequipa. Departed
in evening & camped near cultivated fields... mi. E. of
Chichaslo. Many set 15+ traps near rock wall. About 10000's
live & cold at night.
To Juliaca
May 30, 1952 Many'traps held 3 large Phyllotes (2 CKs
M.K. specimen), & min. ? (discarded), another mouse
(C.R. specimen). We drove to Juliaca. Saw a Notho.
proto about km. 102 from Puno & another near foot
first grade on road to Juliaca. Camped in our trailer
600+ flemijos n lga. Delmar.
in yard of adventist clerie. Overcast afternoon.

Drove to Umayo. 16 mi. toward Puno from Juliaca, then
turn off to W. for 10+ miles. I had a letter from aunt, Gilda,
