c. Koford 164 Journal April 28, 1952 Huaylarcq, 15000', Dpto. Arquipa Watched tinamou nest 6:45 - 9 a.m. Followed & watched for three tinamous most of day, checking nest in afternoon. Clear night April 28, 1952. Clear morning; sunrise 6:10. Watched Tinamotis nest 6:35 - 10 a.m. Drove to Smeta for gas + supplies + return (their time 10 mi. behind mine). Saw 15+ Attagis, all full-sized appearing, in a flock on Smeta road. May cloudiness about 3/10 today. up to 5% cloud late afternoon. April 29, 1952. Clear morning, Watched tinamou nest 6:30- ut not opening; put in double set 10 a.m. Built rock blind for watching. Sums bot the bait at stat top April 30, 1952. Clear calm morning. Watched Tinamotis nest 6:30 - + 1:20-4:30 p.m. 10 a.m., 2 Sampled egg; pipped. Put 2 whole wrenchor at puma set. 5/10 cu milt. at 4:30 p.m. but no precipitation. May 1, 1952 Clear, calm. Sunrise 6:10. Watched Tinamotis nest 6:40 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 3:15-4:30 p.m. Egg fallen from nest yesterday delivered today. About 5/10 clouds + cold winds 4:30 p.m. Clear night. May 2, 1952 Clear, calm, frosty. Sunrise 6:10. Watched Tin- amotis nest, 6:40 a.m.-11 a.m., 1:40-4 p.m. 1/10 cumulus + for NE fog at 2 p.m. Chicks seen at nest but did not depart. To rtr. Tincopales, Dpto. Puno May 3, 1952 Clear, calm; light frost. Watched Tinamotis nest 6:45 a.m.-8:30 a.m.. Fresh puma tracks 200yd. S. of nest. The Metriopelia ayroma land flying + seen in pairs + scurals, every day. No hummingbirds seen since before April 1. Tinamotis brood left nest & was collected. In late afternoon drove to Tincopales and a few miles beyond. No clear all day days yet this yeur; some clouds i.p.m. May 4, 1952 To Juliaca Dpto. Puno Drove via Santa Lucia to Juliaca & camped.
