(1. Koford Journal March 29, 1952 Hualcarq 1500'. Octor Arquipa Two ?? apparently laid about 10 a.m. I watched vicunas & went to Solterio for gasoline. Tinamotis nest 1 & atay- is nest destroyed by fox or dog. Snow in late afternoon. March 30, 1952. A & O Person worked tinamoris 7-9 a.m. I watche nest 2 6-7a.m. & 9:30-10:30, then A.P. watched until 2:30. Felix rob- [cannot read] colo taken in a Person trap. I watched vicunas 1:30-4p.m. March 31, 1952. No snow. I watched nest 6:30, & 9-10:30. Mary took a Punoyps in daytime; & 2 A. jelshii. Kofords & Persons drove to Tincopalea, km. 123 from Puno. Person shown a Nothoprocta nest there. Fished for trout. Persons stayed & Kofolds looks to km. 143 (from Arquipa) camp. April 1, 1952. No snow. I watched Tinamotis nest 2 9:30-11a.m., then took up Mary's to traps (catch 1 P. bolio- jirius, 1 Alhom andwis, 2 A. jelshii). Returns to camp. Mary went down food & watched vicunas in after- noon. Windy afternoon & ½ overcast but no precipitation. April 2, 1952 No frost but ground frozen. 4/10 snow & clearing. Watched Tinamotis nest 2 from 6a.m.-11a.m., & Mary watched 1:30 to 5:15 p.m.; bird off only 7-9a.m. No precip. April 3, 1952. 2/10 raining; frost; cold N. breeze. Visited Tinam- tis nest 1. Watched atayis. Moved trailer to km. 137 from Arq quipa. Still 300' sheep in 136-137 area. 9/10 cumulus 3 p.m. watched vicunas 3:30-6 p.m. April 4, 1952 watched vicunas 5:30 to 10 a.m., 3-5:40p.m. Overcast morning. Light snow in late afternoon. Saw 20+ sand pipers ( Baird ?) & small plovers (C. alticola?) at edge Lake Pérvane. Still coots & gulls on lake. April 5, 1952. 1" snow on ground. Looked for Tinamotis' broods
