C. Koford 159 Journal March 21, 1952 Huaylarco, 15000; Dpto. Arequipa Tunispedia & visited Pearson who had a tinamou nest under surveillance. Heavy hail about 4 p.m. A man walk- ing on road gave me nest with 2 blue eggs, finely speckled, which are similar to picture of egg Phrygilus in Boesl et al. March 22, 1952 Overcast morning. Watched weaver 8-10:30 a.m. Rain & snow at 1 p.m. March 23, 1952 2" snow on ground at Rolo Peque. Melted about 9:30 a.m. Watched weavorn 7-9 a.m., 1:30-2:30. Moved trailer to summit, about km. 143, in after- oon. Mary searched for Tinamotic troche in morning. New camp near good Tinamotic hills, March 24, 1952. Went to new Tunispedia & visited O. Pearson. My family all with colds. O.P. showed me 2 Notoliprasta nests & we shot 1. I saw a trial family with 1/2 to 3/4 gram eggs. Re-turned to 143 camp. Light snow at night. March 25, 1952 1-2" granular snow. Sunrise 6 a.m. Mary looked + found nest 1. Visited OP's again & school. for Tinamotic troche. Watched nest 1 8:30 to 11 a.m., 2 p.m. March 26 Morning and sun camp. Nest 1 (Tinamotic) & saw egg laid. O. Pearson watched 7-6 p.m. - 5 1/2 oC. Last night. 1" snow on ground. March 27, 1952 I watched Tinamotic nest 1 from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. + saw egg 9 laid. Mary watched to 2:30, I to 4 p.m. Nest apparently deserted. Tinamotic nest 2 found by Mary & O. Pearson by snow trooling. Started watching this nest. March 28 27 1952. 1" snow at night. Mary troched Tinamotic & watched nest 1 from 7 to 11:30 a.m. She found Attoqui nest. Pearson watched I. nest 2 7:30-12:15, + Ifrom 12:15-4:30. No snow tonight. March 29 28/1952. Pearson & Mary watched Tinamotic nest 2,
