C. Roford 141 Journal December 13, 1951 6 miles SSE Imata, 14:00 Dpto Arcq. Trops held: A. jolekii, 2 P. deniminii, 1 toad. Many large tadpoles, some with 4 legs, in running stream, + fish to 2" long too. Birds: Coneloder common, large chestnut-backed white-bellied henle, Agriornis (1), Upu- certhia (1), Sicalis (100), Coneoloder (50), Muscicapa colorata (2) joleki (sinerea?) (30), Thinoconus (2), Altopsis (2); water loud cakar repeated, gray Phrygilus, Phelo- Ivannae (2 gray downy young in nest seen before, adult perched 100 yds. away), hummingbird with 7" blunt nest on rock side (much white in tail, green back, brown below, no eggs yet). Alto- camulus at 7 a.m. According to rumbo-sister 9:30 + calm. Took up all but 5 traps + reset. The big plum and a few banks vicunas, llamas+ alpacas seen between camp + Imata (very poor store then). Rain + hail in mid afternoon + overcast into evening. The tolo tree has narrow glandular leaf (?) and yellow flower (mostly in seed). December 14, 1951. Trops held: P. sublimis + 1 A. jolekii. Reset ½ traps. Overcast all day + wet snow in after- noon, ½" snow on ground at sunset. December 15, 1951. No catch. Took up all traps. Downy + 7/10 alto- camulus at 7 a.m. Drove to Paty, Soltero, + about 2 miles toward Progreso (Solierio) off main road from near San. 62°. Foggy at W. side Laguna Solerio & wet snow. 14:00 at camp, 1 mile from brook works. A few paddles only water in the lake. Much salt gather- ing activity by Indians. No flamingoes. Occas-
