M. Koford 1952 Vicugna 50 April 16 Theaylaco now lay down. The older one following adult tried twice to nurse but adult continued walking. This one looks older than two prone juvenile but younger than the 5 grazing together. It ran up to prone one (the one which most recently lay down) and the smaller one stood & ran. Its mother followed and nosed it (the smaller one), then (3:55) it nursed 2 1/2 min. The group has now moved about 100 yd. away from the other very young one and its mother. This jiv. is still prone. Truck stopped and men got out and ran after vicunas. They ran between separate pair and rest of group. The group ran across the road and away to north. Separate adult & jiv. ran to join group and ran near some of men in doing so. April 17 At about 9 a.m. drove down road from 137. Only vicunas seen were 22 ?? N? of road at 131. Turned around at green patch at 127.5. Could see 1 mi. in every direction and no vicunas. When back to 130.5 saw 2 groups. 100 yd. N of road at 130.8 were 2 A, 1 J. Another adult was 100 yd. other side of road. 1/2 mi. from road were 8A, 3J. These would
