all 4 jwv ran to other group (out of
my sight). The ?? didn't seem to
notice absence of juveniles. 11:50 ♂
prone. 12:00 ♂ up. 12:05 1 ad ♀ prone.
12:07 4 jwv ran down draw, followed
part way by an adult. 4 jwv
returned to group (after ½ hour absence)
12:10 1 adult went to juveniles, nosed
one - it wagged tail and arched neck
- then this ♀ walked toward 2 other
juveniles. One of them walked ran
to her and nursed. One minute
later another ran to an adult and
also nursed. 1st nursed 2 minutes,
then ♂ walked away. 2nd nursed 2½
min, then ♀ walked away. 12:17 ad.
to pile. 12:20 prone ♀ up. ♂ followed
her, stopped at a pile & wolf howled.
♂ from up draw came again & stood
near. 12:23 jwv nursed 2½ min.
group from up draw followed this ♂
down. 3 of jwv came down & joined
the 4 in lower group. ♂? chased
them out. All grazed. 1 jwv in group
above stays near adult which is apart
from rest of group. 12:45 all still
grazing when I left.
