Started watching 6 A, 4 J at 9:45. All grazing.
9:55 1 juv. prone, then on side with head up.
9:59 up. 10:00 1 (same?) juv. prone - 10:05 all
up. 10:08 3 juv. to pile. 10:09 1 juv.
nursed. Another started 15 sec. later.
juv. to pile. 10:11 1st stopped nursing
- tried to continue but mother kicked
and walked away. 10 sec. later second
stopped nursing, apparently of own accord.
juv. to pile. Adult to pile. 10:14 juv. prone.
10:15 another juv. prone. 10:16 one up and
nursed 2½ min.; quit voluntarily.
Mother to pile, then another adult - 10:22
all up
All watched something upstream. Juv.
nursed 2 min., then mother walked
away. 1 juv. prone again but up almost
immediately as man walked down road.
One gave alarm and they walked a
little away. They could not see him
until now + earlier behavior perhaps
from behavior of other vicuñas upstream.
10:30 2 juv. prone. 2 ad. & 2 juv. rolled.
10:31 another juv. prone. 1 ad. prone.

10:32 2 juv. up. 10:34 came 2 prone again
(3 juv. now prone) 10:36 prone ad. rolled &
down
lay on side (head up). 10:40 ad. up.
Jeweniles 2 prone, 1 on side. 10:41 3 juv. prone.
