M. Koford 1952 Vicugna April 5 Huaylaco there were only 10 adults in the upper group and the 2 of the 6 adults was missing. Then 2 ran down the hill, the 2 of the 6 chasing another which joined the group up the draw, making 11 adults. Another adult came down the draw, stayed with the 11 A, 4 J for a few minutes, then came down past the 6 A, 4 J. 2 of 6 chased it toward road. I then noticed, just across road at 139 6 A, 1 J. One of these might have been the one just chased that way by 2 of 6. 2 of 6 then chased out 5 adults which ran into Broken Bridge Draw from upstream. They then ran up and chased the 11 A, 4 J a little upstream. None of them acted like a 2. At 4:30 snow started again. April 6 9:30 am In W 139 Draw 6 A, 1 J. In E 139 Draw 6 A, 4 J. 50 yd. up draw 10 A, 3 J. At first upper group was only 9 A and one of the 6 A was up near them. Then another came down the hill. 2 adults of 9 went to meet it with tails raised- it ran down into the group and the one from the 6 ran back to its own group. 10 in upper group grazed quietly together. Their 3 J came down and joined the 7 in lower group.
