M. Koford 1952 39 Vicugna April 5 Thursday others. At least 4 extras were running around them with tails up and all seemed to be chasing each other. They all disappeared over hill just south of E/39 Draw. One of extras may have been ♀ of 13A, 5J. Others may have been ♀/and. Later there were 5 adults up the draw E/39 where there had been 3. Now the 7 A from 138.7 ran upstream and over hill south of E/39 Draw. A shaggy black dog walked up road. 13A, 5J disappeared up E/39 Draw. 6A, 4J ran up to top of ridge north of E/39 Draw - Dog paid no attention. I drove back down road. 16 adults on E/138 Flat. At 133 big bunch still out on flat but I couldn't count because it is snowing and most were lying down. Drove back up to 139 and waited for snow to stop. 6A, 4J are now (3:30) in mouth of E/139 Draw. Adults are up (is snow storm), juveniles down. Snow stopped at 4:00 and I could see another group of 11A, 4J only about 50 yd. up draw from the 6A, 4J. All the juveniles ran about together and for about 15 minutes 7 of the 8 were with the 6 adults. When I first looked
