Drove off on right at 1:33 to watch
[illegible]
The 11 with juv. were just at edge of flat
where sandy slope begins. 4 were
grazing on green across stream, and
another, probably their ♀, was chasing
2 more over the hill. Started watching
at 1:45. ♀ with juv. about 100 ft. from
others (♀♂), ♂ beyond her. Juv. lay on side
in sand several times and dusted as
adults do. At 2:03 was nursing (I don't
know when started) at 2:05 stopped, adult
lay prone. Juv. rubbed against ♀'s head &
neck and they rubbed noses. ♂ stood
and at 2:08½ juv. nursed again until
2:09½. Then it walked away, "gamboled"
back to adult, dusted again, lay prone
and stretched neck on sand, then raised
head and lay in adult position with
legs tucked under. ♂ lay down in same
position 5 ft. away (between 2:10 & 2:15).
