M. Koford 1952 26 Vicugna Feb. 10 Huaylasco, 52 mi. ENE Arequipa, 15000' walked back across Stream, all the way up hill the way they had come, and on up to top of hill opposite 138, where they grazed. The 10 are still about 100 yd. away about opposite 137.9. About an hour later, a pair Rocky Hill began making a lot of noise with their fighting and 5 of 4 again moved toward them with 3Y following. 7H stopped by road at 138.1 and lay down. Then all 4 grazed here just below road, then moved down by Stream. There are now 4 with last yearlings grazing in bottom of E 138.2 Draw at base of Rocky Hill. Their a twice chased a which are still grazing between Rocky Hill and Stream. There are 9 of these 5 left, all yearlings I think. a of 4 with 3 yearlings chased a group of 6 (or 5 already being chased by 1) which crossed road at 138, heading north. His 3 yearlings followed right along after him. They ended up grazing above road at 138.2. Moved down to Stream again and across. 3 y. each lay down in water and shook. a stood and watched them, then crossed without bathing.
