M. Koford 1952 Vicugna Feb. 8 Treaylarco, 52 mi. ENE Arequipa, 15000' Other group (5 A, 1 yearling) to east behind hill. They passed a single one lying down which I had not noticed. They paid no attention to it nor it to them. It stood up and went to a pile and stood a *** long time after finishing, then moved away slowly. I think it was a ?, young-looking-perhaps a yearling. I moved on to look for the other 6 but could not find them. 3 were grazing near stream in E 138.2 draw opposite SW branch. 5 grazing at head of SW branch. 6 others were moving away from there and out of sight to the east. 4 more appeared from the west, crossed E 138 Flat, crossed E 138.2 Draw above the 3, and disappeared to east. 5 at head of SW branch moved up to top of ridge and 3 in bottom of 138.2 draw moved up SW branch to where 5 had been. 5 moved back a little and two groups were about 100 yds. apart. 5 have one sure and another probable yearling. 3 have also one sure or one prob. yearling. The 2 yearlings in 5 started to run and the larger one kept running right down to join the 3. The adult paid no
